Larijani says Palestine issue a test for world

TEHRAN, May 9 (MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani stated on Saturday that the Palestinian issue is a moral test for the community of nations.

“The Palestinian issue is not a minor issue like many other regional problems,” he told the organizers of the Palestine conference which Tehran hosted last March.

He said the Palestinian issue is not a temporary problem and called for the formulation of a comprehensive plan to make the world aware of the miseries of the Palestinian people.

“Until the Palestinians gain their rights we have a responsibility and we are proud of it,” he added.

Larijani also pointed out that the Zionist regime, as the main enemy of the Middle East peace, is currently under the spotlight.

The world was shocked by Israel’s 22-day blitz on the Gaza Strip early this year. Israel’s army targeted schools, hospitals and UN headquarters in which civilians had taken shelter.

Psychologists say Gaza children will suffer from the trauma of the war for many years to come.

Some lawyers have said Israel’s war on Gaza constituted concrete examples of war crimes and are attempting to file lawsuits against certain Israeli generals and political leaders.
