Qatar prioritizes relations with Iran

TEHRAN, May 8 (MNA) – Qatari Assistant Foreign Minister Mohamed bin Abdullal al-Rumaihi stated on Friday that his country regards expansion of ties with Iran as a foreign policy priority.

“Relations with Iran are of utmost importance for Qatar,” he said in a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, in Doha.

Making a reference to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities, al-Rumaihi pointed out, “Qatar supports Iran’s right to a peaceful nuclear technology.”

Qashqavi, for his part, emphasized, “We welcome peace, stability and advancement of regional states. (We) consider the stability of regional states as our own security, and regard threats against them as threats against us.”
