No student reprimanded for criticizing administration

TEHRAN, May 8 (MNA) – Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad-Mehdi Zahedi announced on Friday that during recent presidential campaign meetings in universities no student or staff has been reprimanded for criticizing the current administration.

“There is not any case of a student, employee or professor reprimanded in campaign meetings for criticizing the conduct of the ninth administration,” he told the Mehr News Agency in Tehran.

Zahedi added that all academics and students should be allowed to air their views in universities but they should avoid a hostile attitude towards the administration.

He also pointed out that all presidential candidates can freely make campaign speeches in universities.
