Iranian artworks to go under hammer at London auction

TEHRAN, May 5 (MNA) -- Artwork created by 30 celebrated Iranian artists will go on sale at the Bonhams auction house.

Entitled “Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern and South Asian Art,” the auction, which offers works by painters, sculptors and photographers from Middle East and South Asian countries, will be held on June 3 in London.


A total of 32 creations by several renowned Iranian artists, including Sohrab Sepehri, Manuchehr Yektaii, Farah Osuli, Parviz Tanavoli, Hossein Khosro Farideh Lashaii, Abbas Kiarostami, Kurosh Shishehgaran, and Shirin Neshat, will go on sale at the event.


Bonhams conducts over 700 sales a year, more than any of its rivals worldwide. The company’s international fine arts saleroom is located on London’s New Bond Street, while its other flagship London saleroom is in Knightsbridge, where sales are aimed primarily at the collectors’ market.
