Rafsanjani urges closer ties between Iran-Bosnia private sectors

TEHRAN, May 5 (MNA) – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani called for an expansion of relations between the private sectors of Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Hashemi Rafsanjani made the remarks here on Tuesday in a meeting with visiting Bosnian House of Representatives Speaker Beriz Belkic.

Promoting bilateral cooperation will benefit both nations, he said, adding that the countries’ determination to promote ties can prepare grounds for further cooperation.

He also expressed satisfaction over the establishment of peace and security in Bosnia, saying that harmony between Bosnian groups will help improve the economic situation in the Balkan state.

In response to a question by the Bosnian speaker on the new U.S. stance toward Iran, Rafsanjani said no practical change has been seen in the U.S. policy so far.

Belkic said close contacts between parliamentary friendship groups will help improve ties.

Referring to his talks with Iranian officials, he expressed hope that Tehran-Sarajevo ties will keep growing.
