Mottaki says no strategy for ‘permanent enmity’ with Washington

TEHRAN, May. 4 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Monday that Iran has not formulated any strategy for a “permanent enmity” with Washington.

Iran monitors U.S. actions, and if it changes its conduct Tehran will consider it, he told a gathering of university students in Tehran.

He added that Iran will welcome any change of U.S. tone and conduct.

However, Mottaki noted “everybody talks about a change of tone…it is only possible to make a judgment when policies and actions change.”

The foreign minister said the U.S. policies have reached a “dead end” and therefore change is not a choice, rather a necessity.
