Iran qualifies for World Water Polo Championship

TEHRAN, May 4 (MNA) -- Iran qualified for the World Junior Water Polo Championship after beating Kazakhstan at the Azadi Swimming Pool on Monday.

Iran eased past Kazakhstan 15-8 in the Asian Junior water Polo Championship and qualified for the world championship.

The team has already defeated Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in the competitions. Iran is to play Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

Three top teams will qualify for the 15th FINA World Men’s Water Polo Junior Championships which will be held in Croatia from August 22 to 30, 2009.

The tournament will be held with 20 participants.
