Miresmaeili resigns as Iran’s judo coach

TEHRAN, May 2 (MNA) -- Arash Miresmaeili resigned as Iran’s judo coach on Saturday.

The two-time judo world champion, took charge of the team in September 2008. He had replaced Mohammad-Reza Hajyusefzadeh who served in the job for more than 15 years.

Miresmaeili won the gold medal in two World Judo Championships, the first one in 2001 in Munich and the second in 2003 in Osaka.

He also won bronze medals in the 2005 World Judo Championships in Cairo and 2007 World Judo Championships in Rio de Janeiro.
