Presidential candidates’ reps can monitor entire election process

TEHRAN, May. 2 (MNA) -- Deputy Interior Minister stated on Saturday that presidential candidates’ representatives can attend polling stations to monitor the process of election “from the beginning to the end”.

“There is nothing hidden from the candidates’ representatives or any factions,” Mohammad-Hossein Mousapour told the Mehr News Agency.

He also said that all candidates can send their representatives to the polling stations and that it is quite different from what presidential campaigners proposed as establishing a “committee” to monitor elections.

Presidential hopefuls Mahdi Karroubi and Mir-Hossein Mousavi recently said they would establish joint committees to supervise presidential elections.

Their announcement came after Guardian Council spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaii said the establishment of such committees is illegal.
