Majlis examining plan to respond to disrespect to Iranians

TEHRAN, July 28 (MNA) -- The Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee on Monday approved the outlines of a bill which, if ratified by parliament, would oblige the government to respond to countries that do not show due respect to Iranians.

There have been reports that some countries and their embassies are not showing respect to Iranians applying for visas or attempting to legally enter their countries.

As a result of this situation, the idea of drafting a bill to oblige the government to respond arose, Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee rapporteur Kazem Jalali told the Mehr News Agency on Monday.

He went on to say that the bill will be discussed during an open session of the Majlis before MPs vote on it.

Intelligence Minister Qolam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei also attended the Majlis committee meeting to answer some questions, Jalali added.
