Iran’s advancement speed dazzles world: president

TEHRAN, July 26 (MNA) –President Mahmud Ahmadinejad stated here on Sunday the speed of Iran’s advances is dazzling to the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the car body and paint assembly lines at the Iran Khodro Khorasan (IKK) plant, he said the Iranian nation has always been a forerunner in economic, scientific and cultural fields in the world, but over the last 400 years, some weak dynasties “have caused us lag behind the globe”.

“Today, we try to quickly narrow this gap and be a forerunner again.” Ahmadinejad added.

Emphasizing that this determination makes the enemies irate, the president said, “They try to highlight our weaknesses and disparage our triumphs.”

He went on to say that Iran maintains strong presence in global markets in five industrial fields including building dams, constructing power and cement plants, and manufacturing tractors and cars.

Ahmadinejad also expressed happiness on being informed that the average age of the 3000 workers in IKK is 26, saying, “This shows we should be sanguine about the future and achieving greater accomplishments.”
