TEHRAN, July 26 (MNA) -- The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology issued a license to permit the founding of the Iran Literary Critics Association.

Veteran academics Reza Seyyed Hosseini, Sirus Shamisa, Kavus Hassanli, Alimohammad Haqshenas, Nasser Nikubakht, Ebrahim Khodayar and Hassan Zolfaqari are the association’s founders.

 

The association plans to publish literary criticism quarterly, to offer new university courses on literary criticism and also to hold meetings and seminars to improve the discourse of literary criticism in Iran, Zolfaqari told ISNA.

 

Cooperation between non-academic literary criticism coterie and universities is also an aim of the association, he added.

 

Members of the association’s general assembly will be selected until October.

 

The Iran Literary Critics Association’s office is located at the International Research Center for the Persian Language and Literature of the Tarbiat Modares University.
