Moradi Kermani’s books to be published in Turkey

TEHRAN, July 25 (MNA) -- Turkish readers will soon enjoy selections from the amazing stories written by the Iranian teen’s authors Hushang Moradi Kermani.

Turkish translator of Moradi Kermani’s book Visel Basci claimed that the whole series of Kermani’s book will be published during the coming year in the Turkey.

A selection from “The Stories of Majid” collection is being translated into Turkish and some of the books will be on display at the 27th Istanbul Book Fair that will be held from November 1 to 9, Kermani told ISNA on Thursday.

All of his books will include a joint preface that elaborates on the common cultural traditions of Persian and Turkish nations, he added.

“There is a tradition in Kerman that the neighbors fill bowls of oblations with sweets and return them to their owner. I compare this Iranian custom to the translation of Persian and Turkish works in that we are returning one cultural tradition for another,” Kermani remarked in one of the prefaces.

Moradi Kermani (born September 7, 1944) is an eminent writer of books primarily for children and teenagers. However, his works also appeal to adults.

Several Iranian movies and TV-series have been based on his works. In 2006, Dariush Mehrjuii directed “Mom’s Guest” based on his novel by the same title.

A number of Moradi Kermani’s books have been translated into English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Arabic, and Armenian. His auto-biography has been published under the title “Believe It or Not”.
