TEHRAN, July 21 (MNA) – President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has extended Hossein Samsami’s post as the acting minister of economy and finance affairs.

This decision was made after the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.


Samsami will remain in his post due to the Iranian Parliament’s summer holidays, Press TV added in this regard.


According to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, executive officials must receive a vote of confidence from Parliament (Majlis) in order to officially take office.


President Ahmadinejad is expected to introduce his nominated minister for the Ministry of Economy and Finance Affairs to Majlis after the summer holidays.
