Comedy, historical series win Iranian TV audiences’ hearts

TEHRAN, July 21 (MNA) -- A poll conducted by IRIB determined that Iranians have shown more interest in comedy and historical series broadcast by IRIB’s various channels over the last days of spring and the first month of summer.

“Three Times Four”, a comedy about two poor families teaming up for a joint venture, drew 65.9 percent of the television audiences.

 

Channel 1 has been screening the series every other day since June 9.

 

The serial, directed by comedy actor of television and cinema Majid Salehi, stars Ali Sadeqi, Mehran Rajabi, Mohammad Kasebi, and shohreh Lorestani.

 

Meanwhile, “Qarib’s Life”, a weekly series highlighting Mohammad Qarib (1909-1974), the founder of pediatrics in Iran, has been viewed by 51 percent of people.

 

Directed by veteran filmmaker Kianush Ayyari, the serial also spotlights some events from contemporary Iranian history.

 

Channel 3 has aired the series for the past eight months.

 

“The Haunt,” “Road under Repair,” “Reyhaneh,” “Once upon a Time,” and “The Bride” were other series surveyed by the poll.
