Senior advisor calls Geneva talks ‘positive’

TEHRAN, July 20 (MNA) -- Senior presidential advisor Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi stated here on Saturday that the Geneva talks were “constructive, positive and (a step) forward”.

“These talks were aimed at drawing up a modality plan and ways of continuing the negotiations,” he said on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting.

Asked about William Burns’s presence in the talks, Samareh-Hashemi added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran had previously announced its readiness to negotiate with every one under fair and equitable conditions.”

The Geneva talks on Iran’s nuclear issues were held on Saturday July 19. U.S. undersecretary of State William Burns was also present in the negotiations.

Iran and the 5+1 group will resume the talks in two weeks.
