After the concerts, Kamkars will hold a conference on Kurdish and Iranian music and they will introduce Iranian musical instruments and their applications during a workshop, he added.

He said that the band will hold concerts and some workshops Shiraz’s Afif-Abad Garden on August 7 and 8.

The Enmore Theater website describes the Kamkars’ music as a unique fusion of virtuoso playing on local acoustic instruments, yet utilizing the most complex arrangements and compositions made possible by the artists’ classical training.

The Kamkars have received critical acclaim from The Guardian, The Independent, Washington Post, Herald Sun and the Sydney Morning Herald.

Kamkars will attend a two-day rehearsal with the London Symphony Orchestra on September 28 in preparation for a joint concert to be held in Tehran, Hushang Kamkar said.
