SANANDAJ, July 9 (MNA) – Iran’s first all-metal silo, the biggest in western regions of the country, was inaugurated in the city of Qorveh, Kurdestan Province, here on Wednesday, ISNA reported.

Iran’s Minister of Commerce Masud Mirkazemi, Kurdestan Province Governor General Esmaeil Najar, and a group of provincial officials and governmental bodies attended the inauguration ceremony of 85,000-ton-capacity silo.

 

“Iran enjoys notable potentials in agriculture sector, Mirkazemi said adding, “Through infrastructural development in this sector the country can become a hub for agricultural trade in the region”.

 

“To this end, many positive steps have been taken in the ninth government such as increasing production capacity, expanding storage spaces, and facilitating surplus exports to regional countries,” he added.

 

Some $4.5 million has been expended for construction of the silo within eight months.
