Rafsanjani voices concern over rampant inflation

TEHRAN, July 7 (MNA) – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Monday called for addressing people’s economic problems.

He expressed serious concerns over the “rampant inflation, rising unemployment, and instability in management which in the long run could create serious problems”.

“Instability in management has led to the waste of human resources,” said the cleric.

The administration’s economic policy has pushed inflation close to 26 percent by injecting large sums of cash into the economy to fund local infrastructure projects.

Rafsanjani, who also chairs the Assembly of Experts, said Iranian leaders should seek out expert opinion on ways to resolve economic issues.

“If we succeed to implement the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2010-2015) the country’s economy will see a big jump,” he stated.
