Vaziri Moqaddam to display artworks in Italy

TEHRAN, July 7 (MNA) -- Italy-based artist Mohsen Vaziri Moqaddam is to display a collection of old and new works of art at Italy’s Teramo Città Aperta al Mondo (City open to the World) international cultural happening.

World artists from Sweden, Venezuela, South Africa, and Canada have put their artwork and handmade products on display at Teramo’s craft market exhibit running from July 1 to 13.

 

But Vaziri Moqaddam is to display his works at the special section dedicated to Iran, opening on July 10 during an official ceremony with the participation of the Iranian musical ensemble “Fakhteh”.

 

Conductor Reza Musavizadeh and his band “Fakhteh” will give performances in Teramo and Milan from July 9 to 12.

 

Vaziri Moqaddam was commended for his works at the Rome Municipality and was awarded Europe’s Artist of the Year 2005 title in Rome on December 14, 2005.

 

Mohsen Vaziri Moqaddam was born on May 26, 1924 in Tehran. In primary school, Mohsen was fond of geography and music courses. He continued his studies at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Fine Arts. In 1955, he set off for Italy, where he studied at the Rome Academy of Fine Arts.

 

He has held many exhibitions in Italy and Iran, and his most recent exhibition was held at the Dey Gallery in 2006.

 

Vaziri’s previous exhibits were held at Tehran’s Asiab Gallery in spring 2005 and at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 2004.
