TEHRAN, July 6 (MNA) – The managing director of the Iranian Airports Holding Company (IAHC) here on Sunday announced that it will give the finishing touch to Arak Airport privatization plan next week.

Asqar Ketabchi added that the final talks will be held between the private sector investing entity, Arak city governor general, and officials of the Iranian Airports Holding Company.

The privatization contract will be in the form of BOT (build, operate, transfer), he noted.

Arak Airport is the second one of its kind which is being privatized in line with the macro policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for transferring state-run companies to the private sector, the official added.

In 2007, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei called on government officials to speed up implementation of the policies outlined in the amendment of the Article 44 of the Constitution and move towards economic privatization.
