TEHRAN, July 5 (MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Saturday that Iran is prepared to further expand economic and political relations with Algeria.

In a meeting with Algerian ambassador to Tehran Mohammad al-Amin Waraqi, Larijani expressed satisfaction over the growing relations between Iran and Algeria.

Tehran and Algiers enjoy common political interests and should make every effort to further improve ties, he stated.

Larijani said the Islamic Republic is prepared to launch joint economic projects with Algeria. Iranian private companies are ready to share their experience in engineering with Algerian businesses, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Majlis speaker expressed appreciation for Algeria’s support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.

Tehran in principle welcomes fair and reasonable negotiations over its nuclear program, he asserted.

The Algerian envoy, for his part, called for closer economic ties with the Islamic Republic.

“We are willing to cooperate with Iranian companies in Algeria’s development projects,” he stated.

He also expressed hope that the two countries’ parliamentary relations will improve during Larijani’s term.
