Iran to investigate case of kidnapped policeman in Pakistan

TEHRAN, June 2 (MNA) -- An Iranian delegation will visit Pakistan next week to investigate the case of four Iranian policeman who were kidnapped on the border, caretaker Interior Minister Mahdi Hashemi announced on Wednesday.

“We will follow up the matter in all possible ways and pursued the issue with the Pakistani finance minister during his visit,” he said.

 

Also, in a recent meeting, Pakistani Ambassador Shafkat Saeed stated that his country would make the utmost efforts to obtain the release of the hostages, he added.

 

Hashemi also rejected rumors that some of the policemen have been killed.

 

“There is no evidence supporting the validity of these claims,” he said.
