Iran’s “Crescent of the Caravan” to rise in Paris

TEHRAN, July 1 (MNA) -- The Tehran Symphony Orchestra along with its guest conductor is scheduled to perform the “Crescent of the Caravan” concert in Paris in August.

The orchestra will play along with its guest conductor Saeid Zehni, the composer of the “Crescent of the Caravan” symphony which was performed at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall last winter.

“Some artists and officials from England and France attending the concert invited the orchestra to perform the program in their countries,” Zehni told the Mehr News Agency on Monday.

According to Zehni, the orchestra will travel to Paris along with a half of its members and other players will be introduced to the group from among the French instrumentalists.

Zehni has recently completed composing music for “Bijan and Manijeh”, an adaptation of a story from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh which is currently being performed by Mahmud Azizi at Tehran’s City Theater Complex.

He has previously composed for “Love Resurrection”, a play which was staged by Hossein Mosafer Astaneh in honor of Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi in Paris and several other places.
