Iranian judoka Hosseini wins bronze at Turkey tourney

TEHRAN, July 10 (MNA) -- Amir Sheikh Hosseini from Iran took the bronze medal at an international tournament in Istanbul, Turkey, Saturday.

Iran’s -73kg judoka ranked third as he beat Romania’s representative.

Sheikh Hosseini, who has overcome his Turkish and Kazakhstan opponents, conceded a loss to a Brazilian player, who lifted the title.

 

Judokas from West Azarbaijan Province are representing Iran in the tournament.

 

Head Ja'far Baqeri, coach Bahram Keshvarian, assistant coach Zolfaqar Khorshidi, judge Saeid Goharkhani, and federation representative Bijan Khani are accompanying the Iranian team.

 

Twenty-four countries have pitted 295 judokas in the two-day international men's and women's competitions.
