Puran-Dokht Shamei added that the name of the weaver, the design, the weaving date, the type of cloth, and the renovation priority have been recorded on catalogue cards.
A piece of the kiswa (the embroidered black cloth covering the Ka’ba) said to be donated by Shah Abbas Safavi, a textile embroidered with a surah of the Holy Quran, and silk works by famous masters are among the items on display at the museum.
The Isfahan Decorative Arts Museum was established in 1996 after the Tehran Decorative Arts Museum was closed. All the items from the Tehran museum were transferred to other museums, the majority of which went to the Isfahan museum.
