Handball players bag 1st victory at Asian champs.

TEHRAN, Jan. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s national handball team achieved a victory over Lebanon in its second match at 17th Asian Men's Championship.

Despite an earlier loss at the opening match against Saudi Arabia, Iranian handball players managed to make a clean sweep (31-26) against Lebanon as part of the 17th Asian Men's Championship underway in Bahrain.

Iran and Lebanon had both conceded defeats in their first matches in the tournament with Lebanon losing to Qatar 18-41 and Iran being bested by Saudi Arabia 21-26.

Meanwhile, the match between Saudi Arabia and the host Bahrain ended in a 17-all draw.

In their next encounter, the Iranian outfit will meet China on Tuesday, January 19.

The 17th Asian Men's Championship kicked off on Friday 15 January 2016 in Bahraini capital Manama and will come to an end on Thursday 28 January 2016.
