Iran indigenizes 8,000 oil industry pieces

AHVAZ, Aug. 27 (MNA) – The head of National Iranian South Oilfields Company told the reporters about indigenization of oil industry maintenance.

Eight thousands of pieces needed in oil industry have been indigenized so far, said Bijan Alipour, Managing Director of National Iranian South Oilfields Company on the sidelines of a provincial gathering in southwestern city of Ahvaz.

Alipour also recounted that 4,000 other pieces are to be produced by Iranian industries and reassured that Iran needed no foreign assistance in maintaining and repairing its oil industry.

The official asserted that the renovation of old machines has been started relying on 100 percent localized engineering.

As the largest oil producer, NISOC output accounts for nearly 83% of total crude production and the company consists of 8 subsidiary companies.
