Iran in energy quartet by 2040: Tanaka

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – The former executive director of IEA called investment in Iran’s energy sector invaluably worthy.

The former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Nobuo Tanaka who is currently the President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan visited the Institute of Energy Studies in Tehran.

Valuing the geopolitical situation of Iran, Nobuo Tanaka affirmed that Iran will be one of the four major energy hubs of the world by 2040.

The president of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation also called for a list of investment priorities to be released by Iran to ease the foreign investment in post-sanctions era.

He also reassured that Japan, China, South Korea, and Europe would be the biggest oil and gas importers of the world by 2040.

The Japanese figure asserted that gas will soon replace oil and coal but the pricing system of gas should be defined.
