Peace, stability in Afghanistan serve regional interests

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) - Iranian parliament speaker said peace and stability in the neighboring countries will leave positive effect on the region, underlining a safe Afghanistan with economic self-sufficiency will serve Iran’s interests as well as the region.

During the meeting with Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, the Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that the meeting between the officials of the two countries will help remarkably to develop the relations which will result in the benefit of the two nations.

Pointing to the religious, cultural and language commonalities the two nations share, Larijani stressed the Parliament readiness to expand its cooperation with Afghanistan’s Parliament with the aim of facilitating and expediting the ties between the state and private sectors of the two countries.

He continued that Iran’s principal policy is to strengthen the relations with the neighboring countries adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran regards the existence of a secure Afghanistan with a self-sufficient, dynamic and booming economy in line with Iran’s interests along with the other regional countries.

Larijani further said that after the Islamic Revolution, Iran has made noticeable achievements in various fields of health arena including medicine, pharmacy, training human resources as well as the health insurance and it is ready to provide Afghanistan with its experiences.

Ferozudin Feroz, Minister of Public Health, in his part expressed his country’s readiness to promote mutual cooperation with Iran stressing that we are aware of the achievements Iran has made in regard to health and public treatment and Afghanistan welcomes any further promotion of cooperation with Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also described Iran’s achievements in the field of training human resources, medicine and medical equipment and services as incomparable and asked for drafting an agenda to assist Afghanistan in this regard.
