Iran supports Iraqi, Syrian territorial integrity

TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – Leader’s representative in the IRGC has said the US has worked to disintegrate Islamic countries of the region.

Hojjatoleslam Ali Saeidi, who represents the Leader in Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), spoke to the press conference of the first Salman Farsi Festival of Islamic Humanities Research Special in the Iranian armed forces on Sunday in the IRGC Public Relations building.

Saeidi responded to a question of the place and the role of the armed forces specially that of IRGC in protecting the culture of the Revolution and confronting the cultural invasion; “essentially, all wars have roots in culture and the first war of the world between Abel and Cain was also cultural; IRGC is a Revolutionary institution with a mission to protect the Revolution, with a distinction being different in mission compared to other parts of the armed forces,” he told the media; “other missions of the IRGC is to defend the borders and the territorial integrity and independence of the country; however, the constitution has assigned the IRGC with a mission of facing and aborting hard and soft threats,” he added.

“Basij is a popular force which is connected to the public and has a mission to confront cyber-attacks to improve the spiritual and mental capacities of the audience,” Saeidi told the press. In response to a question of US allegations against IRGC’s nuclear weapons ambitions, Saeidi denied that IRGC essentially was an autonomous force and asserted that it would not decide on its own without the grand policies of the whole Islamic system; “IRGC is not a purple patch isolated from the rest of the country; nuclear weapons have no place in the defensive doctrine of the  Islamic Republic of Iran, as enshrined in the world-renowned fatwa by the Leader, which bans stockpile, use, and procurement of any weapons of mass destruction,” he said.

“During its history, the US has had 4 or 5 agendas, one important agenda being having Ottoman Empire disintegrated; control and colonizing fragmented countries and ex-empires is far easier and constitutes an element of the western grand scheme of policy, with the last being Sudan, which was divided into South and North Sudan,” Leader’s representative told the press.

“It is imperative that we support Iraqi and Syrian territorial integrity; the people in these countries should stand against the plights and conspiracies to bring US plans of disintegration into dust,” he concluded.
