Iran, Italy kick off power plant construction talks

TEHRAN, Aug. 08 (MNA) – Iran and Italian power company have sat in a meeting to negotiate construction of a dam and a power plant in north of the country.

Italian Borrelli Power Company welcomed investment in Iran’s water and power sectors after a visit to Iran’s potentials of energy. The company’s delegation consisting of four members had also met with higher management of Iran Water & Power Resources Co. and Tarik Dam and Power Plant, and Siah Bisheh Dam and Power Plant.

The Italian delegation visited Tarik Dam and Power Plant located 30km from Rasht, Guilan province, which falls in the category of small-scale power plants with 3mW capacity. With generation of annual amount of 16.46mWh using water behind the dam, the project attracted the Borrelli Company officials’ attention.

The delegation also visited Chalous and Siah Bisheh pumped storage plant, and received a comprehensive data by the power plant authorities and technical staff during delegations’ visit to power plant’s facilities and technical capabilities.
