Old building enlisted as Natl. Monument

KASHAN, Aug. 03(MNA) – The local officials of ICHHTO announced the enlisting of a historical building in Kashan.

The public relations office of Kashan’s Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) quoted Head of ICHHTO in Kashan Mohsen Javeri as saying that Sohrabi Building in the city was inscribed in Iran’s List of National Monuments.

The owner of the building, Jafar Allmeh-Feizi, was a poet and theologian of late Qajar and early Pahlavi era who passed away in 1949.

Showing respect to a man of intellect, the alley leading to his residence has been named after him as Allame following his death.

Two years ago, Amir Sohrabi, bought the place from the former owners and turned it into a museum of toys and dolls which currently showcases 100 toys and 110 dolls.

Out of 318 historical sites of Kashan registered in national lists, 83 are old buildings with exquisite local architecture.
