Spanish ministers to visit Iran in Sep.

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – Spain's ambassador to Iran announced upcoming visit by three ministers of his country to Iran in September to consolidate bilateral relations.

Stressing his country's willingness to buy Iran's crude oil, Pedro Antonio Villena Pérez announced on Saturday that Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation José Manuel García-Margallo, Minister of Development Ana Pastor Julián and Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria will pay a visit to Tehran on September.

He said his country is certainly working to boost relations with Iran especially in the post-sanctions era.

Villena made the remarks after his meeting with the governor general of western Iran province on Saturday.

Villena Pérez termed as remarkable the province’s capacities in energy, tourism and precious stones expressing regret over the reduced volume of bilateral trade in the past years due to sanctions.

The volume of the trade exchanges between the two countries amounted to 4 billion Euros in 2011, while the figure stood at 3.5 billion Euros in 2009.
