US to be held responsible should negotiations fail

TEHRAN, Jun. 29 (MNA) – A Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission member has told a National Radio program R&D should be allowed under any circumstances.

Esmail Kowsari told Iran’s IRIB Radio ‘Rouydad’ program on Monday that west had tried according to the report by IAEA inspectors to gain more ground in the negotiations.

“The negotiations approaches critical stage and seeking necessary advice from higher officials should be made within the next 48 hours to the deadline to make possibly new decisions on extending the deadline,” he told Radio program. “A barrier to progress in negotiations is demands by both sides made in the talks; from the outset, our negotiators had been seeking to secure simultaneous removal of sanctions with signing a deal; a second demand made by Iranian side is the necessity of R&D activities which we believe should remain untouched; a demand Iran opposes is interview of sensitive nuclear scientists and inspections of critical places including missile sites and military centers,” the Parliamentarian detailed to Radio program.

“We would not accept under any situation whatsoever that the IAEA would continue its verification activities in our nuclear facilities; we have worked with the IAEA to build confidence; however, they would change the scene to use the IAEA inspectors to gain grounds in the negotiations,” Kowsari said.

“We also would not concede a decade of inactivity in R&D, since the negotiations are undecided on the issue; the US has launched a psychological warfare to mount pressure on us [our nuclear negotiators] to secure their favorite situation; there is a consensus inside the country too which the Leader of the Islamic Republic is also a party, that the best manner to respond is to resist US demands,” he concluded.
