Qasemi grabs Iran’s 1st intl. 100m medal

TEHRAN, Jun. 06 (MNA) – Iranian sprinter Reza Qasemi won the country’s 1st international 100 meter sprint medal after finishing third in the final of the event at the 21st Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan China.

Reza Qasemi won the bronze medal in the 100-meter sprint event at the 21st Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan, China, to register the country’s first ever international 100-meter medal in his sports career.

Qasemi ran the 100 meter event final in 10.19 seconds on Thursday to win the historical medal.

Gold medal winner Femi Seun Ogunode of Qatar ran the 100 meters in 9.91 seconds. China’s Zhang Peimeng recorded 10.15 seconds and won silver.

The competitions kicked off on June 3 and will wrap up on June 7.
