On Monday, Mohammad Kia-Darbandsari exhibited brilliant performance in the men’s giant slalom contests and collected the gold medal.
His compatriot, Seyyed Morteza Ja’fari, stood in the silver medal position, whilst a skier from Turkey took the bronze.
Moreover, silver medal in the women’s giant slalom competitions went to Iranian sportswoman Mitra Kalhor. Turkish skiers collected the silver and bronze medals in the category.
On Sunday, Iranian athletes Hossein Saveh-Shemshaki and Pouria Saveh-Shemshaki won the gold and silver medals in the men’s contests, while a skier from Hungary won the bronze.
In the women’s contests, Kalhor snatched the bronze medal and her Turkish competitors won the gold and bronze medals.
According to Press TV the 2014 Winter Olympics, or the 22nd Winter Olympics, are scheduled to take place from 6 to 23 February 2014, in Sochi, Russia, with some events held in the resort town of Krasnaya Polyana. Ninety-eight events in fifteen winter sports will be held.
