Export affairs director general in the Ministry of Industries and Mines, Ahmad Qasemi stated that the export of juice, biscuit and confectionary, tomato paste, pasta, rosewater, soft drinks, licorice, yeast, tobacco, and alcohol increased in the period. “At the same time, we noticed reductions in the amount of vinegar, types of pickles, molasses and linter,” he added. Food industry products comprised 5.3% of industrial and mineral exports.
Meanwhile, he said that, during the five-month period, $18.9 million worth of detergents and cleansers have been exported, corroborating 6.2% rise compared with the similar period last year. “These items comprise 1.1% of industrial and mineral exports.”
