TEHRAN July 2 (MNA) –- The Secretary of High Council of Free Zones, Hussein Nasiri, said that in the past two years $1 billion foreign investment was attracted in free zones and the negotiations for absorbing over $8 billion is currently under way.

According to the public relations office of the Secretariat of High Council of Free Zones, Nasiri, who is also advisor to the President, has released a report on the performance of Kish, Qeshm and Chabahar Free zones from Iranian calendar year 1380 to 1382 (March 20, 2001- March 19, 2003).

 

According to this report apart from $1 billion foreign investment in the past two years, some Rls 6,000 billion domestic investment has been made in the free zones correspondingly.

 

Also negotiations for absorbing over Rls 10,000 billion domestic investment is in process, the report says.
