TEHRAN June 6 (MNA) -- Iran and Malaysia will cooperate in the rubber industry, said an Iranian Chamber of Commerce official, news reported on Sunday.

Seven Malaysian companies along with a delegation from the Malaysian Rubber Export Development Council are currently visiting Iran in order to review the market and the situation for introducing Malaysian products in Iran, added deputy chairman of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce in International Affairs Fereydun Entezari.

Entazari expounded, “The time is ripe for Iran and Malaysia’s joint investment in the production of tubeless tires and tires made without ply cords.” He also noted that there are also suitable grounds for cooperation between the two countries in manufacturing automotive plastic parts, spare parts, and decorative parts.

Referring to the privatization trend in Iran, Entezari further commented that new regulations, in particular laws encouraging and supporting investment and private development, have paved the way for foreign investment in the country.

Entezari also explained that in the course of his recent visit to Malaysia, grounds were prepared for establishing a joint council, the agreement of which has already been signed.
