TEHRAN, Sep. 26 (MNA) – Iranian researchers at Mashhad Medical Sciences University have discovered sunscreen properties of nanoliposomes in saffron which can absorb ultraviolet rays.

Results of the research showed that saffron can act as a sunscreen. Saffron's SPF with the extract of 0.5 percent and one percent is more than standard sunscreen in 8-percent purified homosalate.

 

The results also showed that nanoliposomes of saffron extract can absorb ultraviolet and act as a natural sunscreen.
