Based on the statistics, the Middle East shows the highest internet user growth rate. Internet users in the region have risen from 3,284,000 in June 2000 to more than 90 million in June 2012.
Accordingly, the proportion of internet users in the Middle East to the global number is 3.7 per cent. By June 30 2012, the total number of people to use the internet in the Middle East has been 90,455,000.
Also, Internet Penetration Rate in the Middle East has been 40.2 per cent to outweigh the global average. Iranian 42 million users account for 46.7 per cent of the Middle East internet users, with the first place in the region in the number of users.
While having the most internet users in the Middle East, in terms of broadband users Iran is only 14th in Middle East. Bahrain with 12.2 broadband internet users per 100 people stands 1st and UEA, Turkey, Qatar are next. Syria, Kyrgyzstan, and Yemen are the last countries in the ranking.
