TEHRAN, July 6 (Mehr News Agency) – Iranian 110m hurdles runner Ali Akbar Mehrabani Bashar snatched a bronze medal in an international track-and-field tournament for the mentally-disabled in Tunisia, said the federation Sunday.

According to Iran’s Federation for the Disabled and War-Disabled Sports, Bashar clocked 16.49 seconds, finishing third.

 

A Tunisian sprinter won the coveted gold with a time of 14.97 seconds and the runner-up title went to a Polish runner, who passed the finish line after 15.24 seconds.

 

Coached by Roshan Qias, the four members of Iran are Hamid Aliabadi, Asghar Norouzi, Hassan Biabanizadeh, and Ali Akbar Mehrabani Bashar.

 

The federation said 229 athletes from 27 states are competing in the event.
