TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (MNA) -- Sepahan got a boost by beating Zob Ahan in Isfahan football derby on Sunday.

In the match played at the Fooladshahr Stadium as part of the Iran Professional League 22nd round, Sepahan edged its arch-rival 2-0 in a scrappy match.

Hadi Aghili put Sepahan ahead in the 34th minute from the penalty spot and Milorad Janus scored the second goal for the team in the 58th minute. Sepahan’s Brazilian midfielder Fabio Januario was sent off in the 79th minute.
 
Zob Ahan remains on top of the table with 42 points and Sepahan is third after Esteghlal with 39 points and one game in hand.

Esteghlal defeated Paykan in an away game in Qazvin 3-1. Farzad Ashoobi gave a lead to the visiting team in the 14th minute from the penalty spot. Mehdi Seyyed Salehi also scored for Esteghlal in the 20th minute. Jahangir Askari pulled a goal back for Paykan in the 75th minute. Hanif Omranzadeh scored Esteghlal’s third goal in the 79th minute.
 
Also, Persepolis was held to a goalless draw by 10-man Rah Ahan at the Azadi Stadium.
