Sayyari also said the Iranian warships are not in the Gulf of Aden just to prevent pirate attacks, but also it is part of the strategic policy of the Navy to show Iran’s might in the world.
He also said a number of new Qadir submarines will join the army during the current week.
Iran can design missiles more advanced than Phoenixes
Admiral Aziz Nasirzadeh also said on Monday that Iran plans to design and manufacture an air-to-air missile that is more advanced than the Phoenix missile.
This long-range missile, when fired, does not allow the flying target to maneuver, Nasirzadeh told the Mehr News Agency.
He said air-to-air missiles are either active, semi-active or inactive, adding those that are inactive should be guided by pilot for certain distance so that pilot can make sure it hits the target.
But, about those that are active, they will be guided by pilot for only a short distance and then they automatically hit the target, he explained.
Phoenix missile is an air-to-air missile and when launched it automatically pursues and hits the target, he stated.
Therefore, Iran is running some projects in order to design and manufacture projects that can surpass the Phoenix missiles.
