Khosrow Sinaii withdraws from Camerata concerts
TEHRAN -- Leading filmmaker Khosrow Sinaii has decided not to accompany the Camerata chamber orchestra on accordion during its upcoming concerts.
Sinaii, who studied music at the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, had earlier agreed to accompany the orchestra during its performances on September 14 and 15 at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall.
“He said that he is too busy making a documentary these days, and he cannot participate in the performances. However, Sinai announced that he will prepare his repertoire for Camerata in the near future,” the orchestra’s conductor, Keyvan Mirhadi, told the Persian service of MNA.
World contests honor Iranian cartoonists
TEHRAN -- Two Iranian cartoonists were awarded at two contests in Macedonia and U.S.
Afsun Azimi won the first prize at the World Gallery of Cartoons -- Osten contest which was held in Macedonia.
The honorary diploma of the American International Humor Festival Bostoons, which was on the theme of freedom, went to Farhad Bahrami.
Toronto to host Persian concerts
TEHRAN -- The Persian classical music Shiraz Ensemble will give performances at Toronto’s Music Gallery on September 16 and 17.
Vocalist Fariba Davudi will accompany the ensemble during its performances that will feature music based on poems by Mohammadreza Fayyaz, Hushang Ebtehaj and Bidel Dehlavi.
