TEHRAN, Aug. 14 (MNA) -- The renowned Iranian painter Mohhamd-Ali Tarraqijah died of a heart attack on Thursday night in Tehran.

Tarraqijah’s funeral was held on Saturday in Tehran’s southern suburb of Rey and his body laid to rest in the courtyard of the shrine of Hazrat Abdolazim (AS).

Born in 1943 in Tehran, he graduated from the College of Science & Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering, but he became one of Iran’s most eminent artists.

His works have been exhibited in Germany, Italy, France, America and Japan. His paintings were selected by the International Museum of 20th Century Arts (TIMOTCA) to represent Iran’s Art.
