TEHRAN, July 19 (MNA) – Iran and Saudi Arabia are two influential countries in the Islamic world whose growing ties would strengthen unity among Muslims, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani said on Monday.

In a meeting with new Saudi Arabian ambassador to Iran, Larijani pointed out that strong bonds between Iran and Saudi Arabia will thwart the enemy’s attempts to sow discord between the two important Islamic countries.

He went on to say that Iran will welcome the expansion of bilateral relations with Riyadh in all areas.

Tehran and Riyadh should attach great importance to judicial cooperation and agreements and ought to exchange views on establishing a committee of Islamic countries’ judicial chiefs, Iran’s top judicial official suggested.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Islam has many pieces of advice with respect to human rights which should be spread in the world through Islamic countries particularly Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The new Saudi ambassador, for his part, said the two countries should increase ties.

The ambassador added strong relationship between Iran and Saudi Arabia will promote respect to Muslims around the world and make them stronger in the face of anti-Islamic moves.
