Nagoya, Nov. 22 (MNA) -- Iran volleyball team was defeated by Poland in the FIVB Men’s World Grand Champions Cup 2009 on Sunday.

In the match held at the Nippongaishi Hall, the Poles beat Iran 3-1 with scores of 25-23, 18-25, 28-26, 25-23.

“I think it was a good match, but in my opinion in order to win you must believe you can win in your mind and in your heart. Today we had this spirit and I think we could have won 0-3 but we lost 3-1,” Hossein Madani said in a post match news conference.

Iran is scheduled to play Cuba on Monday.

Defending champion Brazil leads the rankings with four victories following a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) win over Egypt.
