Mohammad-Reza Takaidi said Petroleum Engineering and Development Company as the contractor plans to drill 13 wells in the field.
It is estimated that the project, which is worth €129 million, will come on stream in 36 month.
The first offshore drilling operation in the Persian Gulf region reaching, in Kish gas field, on depth of 4,050 meters into the waters was carried out recently.
The project was conducted in 245 days with a cost of over €32.2 million.
Ali Abbasi Loraki, the project manager said the second drilling is projected to start in the near future.
Kish gas field is located near the Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. It was discovered in 2006, holding approximately 59 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of in-situ gas reserve, of which 45 tcf is recoverable. The field also holds 946 million barrels of condensate, of which 331 million barrels are recoverable.
The field has the capacity of producing four billion cubic feet of gas per day.
